I was wrong

See what a big person I am admitting that? Such an important issue too. I got an email from my friend Maggie Turner. Maggie is an extraordinary quilt artist and a former realtor, who attended Beaverton High School with Joe Rigert, of the prominent local family for whom our road was probably named. They pronounce the name as Ray does, Rig-gert. I will retrain myself. I am starting right now. Riggert. Riggert. Riggert.

Thanks, Maggie.

I guess.

  2. Hi there! I just found your blog while searching for "stripped oak furniture" (I have a bed I'm figuring out). I loved your post about oak... I have come to love oak furniture, but everyone else hates it. I thought maybe I was insane, but now I'm just thankful that I can buy it for cheap b/c no one else wants it. Meanwhile, though, I wanted to tell you taht I grew up just off of 185th & Bany Road, which is close to Rigert. And we (and everyone else I know) called it Rigert like Tigger. Who knew! Small world.
